Given an opportunity to make my future brighter....
Putting pleasure before business....
Enjoyed city life forgetting the consequences....
Allowing for tempations to cloud my judgement....
A quarter tank of hope is gone
Thats alright, I will put this task off till later. I'll still have time.....
I'll just go out with him for a drink or two, or three...
Oh wow! How did I end up with a bare body in your bed?
Thats okay, we'll forget this ever happened.....
Half a tank of hope is gone
Okay, I'll work something out....
I have to be out of the hostel by 2pm today?
Alright fine, let me call up a friend.....
Oh wait, now I'm with this this woman in her filth in her one-bedroom....
Other friend calls me to see how I am.....
I tell her everything......
She comes to get me, but its a burden.....
A quarter of hope is left
Parents call, no answer from me.....
Too scared to let the know the real ordeal....
Friend can't hold it in any longer....
She feels bad for keeping things from my folks....
My folks are steamed with what went down....
So they came down to Chi-town.....
Pack your bags, you heading home with us.....
Hope is on empty
Sulking in bedroom.....
Having no appetite.....
Wondering if there is a God....
Gathering the strength to believe in him....
Hope is on empty
Folks not believing a word to say.....
You lied to them for so long, can you blame them....
Challenging and doubting your every word.....
Frustration in your mind and heart build up.......
Hope is on empty
Siblings are ashamed to speak....
Ashamed to look.....
Ashamed to claim you....
Due to your hitting rock bottom....
Hope is on empty
Reevaluating self.....
Right the wrongs.....
You still have a chance.....
To develop a new mentality....
Hope is filling up but no all the way
You regain your faith.....
Apologizing for putting Him on the backburner....
Wondering if He is too tired of your crap.....
But you pray anyway....
He will be the pumping the gas of hope in your tank.
