One of my girls always told me that I should never tell a man what I used to do in the past, because he will use that information to hang over my head and use it against me in other ways. Every time I told a man that I truly liked at a certain point about what I used to do, she tell me that I should have lied and denied everything he has heard. Now that I think about it, telling him the truth would have been the right thing to do. If we were to become intimate, I think my past should become his business for the sake of his health and life.
If he had already heard something through the grapevine about what you used to do, why not come clean and decrease the drama? Here is how I see it, if you sweep your dirt under the rug, your man, or woman will somehow get the idea to lift up the rug and see all of your dirt. And who will be the one looking grimy?.....YOU. Another way I see this is if you lie to someone, you underestimate their intelligence. By underestimating their intelligence, you are saying that they are not smart enough to find out the truth, nor are they strong enough to handle it. I don't know about any one else, but to me, that spells INSULT and DISRESPECT. Men are not very stupid and can tell if something fishy is going on with you. Same goes for a woman with a man. If the man chooses to hang the truth about me over my head and use it against me, that shows his lack of maturity. If he were to have less to nothing to do with me, that shows that he is not strong or forgiving enough for me. Another thing, a blind man can see from 30 miles away that I'm lying. I'm not a slick person nor am I trying to be. I believe that the truth will set one free. I have even tried lying to my folks a few times, but they saw right through all of those lies. If I cannot lie to them successfully, then I cannot lie to my man successfully either. So to all of those who lie and think they can get away with it, know that the shit will hit the fan later. Just my thoughts.
